When an EICR flags defects, the codes tell you how urgent they are. Here is what C1, C2 and FI mean.
When an EICR identifies defects, remedial works must be completed to return the installation to a satisfactory standard.
C1 — Danger Present
Risk of injury is present. Requires immediate action, often disconnection and repair.
C2 — Potentially Dangerous
Must be repaired urgently — within 28 days for private rented sector compliance.
FI — Further Investigation
Additional testing is required to establish the condition of the installation.
